Best burgers, tots, and chicken fingers in the East Village! Hands down. Amazing outdoor patio in the back that's my favorite place to drink a margarita after another COVID work day.
Must try the onion rings if you're grabbing food! This is great gem if you're looking for a good bite, beer and true bar feel..... And interested in traveling East. This place has a fun night life & good date spot as well. We came here on a Friday night, so we grabbed food then stayed at the bar after. Great outdoor space too!
Awesome neighborhood spot! Bartenders are very nice and friendly. Being from NOLA, I do not often experience friendly bartenders! Go figure since we survive on being hospitable! Anyway, the Royale is very laid back and the food was very good as well..(BLTA & tortilla soup) Was pretty crowded on a Sat night but not so much so that it was offending. Returned on Sunday night and it was not crowded at all. Just really nice.
Awful pandemic to go drinks not worth walking over to Ave C. 9 bucks basically for a funsize bag of m and m's.
I loved the atmosphere. The bun on the burger was a bit dry. The draft beer list was meh. The service was great. It would make my "will be back" list if they could fix the burgers.
All the food was great nice outside seating.it rained but we were under a nice umbrella. Drinks were nice and strong. Wonderful waitress.
This casual bar makes more than one reference to Pulp Fiction on their menu. Known for their burgers, the basic burger is of course called The Royale. The Cheeseburger is called The Royale With Cheese. And a specialty burger with Gruyere, Maytag Blue, and truffle salt is called The Marcellus Wallace! I gotta say, the burgers we're good. I had the Marcellus Wallace without the carmelized onions. Their truffle fries are pretty darn good too. Didn't have a drink but their bar seemed pretty well stocked. The atmosphere was laid back. Shorts and flip-flops pass the test to get in the door. Wait staff was super friendly and reasonably prompt. Definitely recommended.
I never leave negative reviews. This was by far one of the worst burgers I've ever had. Cheap meat with no seasonings. Don't like giving bad reviews and had really high hopes. More of a let down than 2020
Nice neighborhood spot. Friendly staff.
Yummy burgers and crockpot mac n cheese sooo good!
This is a great burger place with outdoor seating and good drinks!
Seemed like a nice place. Honestly it was clean not. Rowded had outside seating even in winter and staff were nice. I went there for a party so I don't know about drink prices or quality as I don't drink but it was a nice experience. I've been to much worse places and a few bigger places but overall it was good.
great burger with fresh toppings and crispy bacon, local crowd in the heart of alphabet city.
Remember when Royale had the best burger in town (per Frank Bruni), in like 2005? It's still really good! I'm not the biggest sports bar fan, and it is (for me) not still the BEST in town, but a Royale with Cheese and some fries hits the spot. It's a classically styled burger that gets every element right. Kudos to them for hanging in there in a tough economy and staying delicious.
I enjoyed the food and the drinks. The servers were very accommodating. I attended a fundraiser at Royale and thought it was very gracious of them to make a donation to the cause. The only thing I think could be better is their private room. It seems like a recent add on that needs a little bit more work. All in all it was a great time. Looking forward to going back.
This place is awesome! They are still open for business and make any cocktail to go as well as food choices. Super friendly staff as well! Lovely to see them open!
